Half-Million Mobilization, Building Updates, Summer Plans
“Jesus walked along with them”
In Luke 24:13-35, the Resurrected Jesus surprised two disappointed and disillusioned disciples by walking with them and explaining “to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself” (24:27).
At first they didn’t recognize that it was Jesus! But when he broke bread and gave it to them “their eyes were opened” (24:31) and they said, “weren’t our hearts burning within us while he…opened the Scriptures to us?” (24:32)
Will you pray for open eyes and burning hearts?
So many people today are living with disappointed and disillusioned lives, with eyes closed to the gospel and cold hearts. But look what Jesus can do! He can open the eyes and stir a fire within.
Today, I pray for open eyes and burning hearts within Stillmeadow and among the people of York. I ask God to start with me, showing me where I need to grow in understanding and stirring within me a zeal for His work.
Will you pause to pray with us?
Our current series is breaking down prayer with the acronym: PRAY. P for Pause. R for Rejoice and Reflect. A for Ask and Y for Yield.
And see the announcement below about praying with 500,000 people in the Half-Million Mobilization that begins this Sunday.
We want to see hearts in York and around the world transformed by Christ. Let’s pray for revival and renewal in ourselves, our church, our community and nation.

THE HALF MILLION MOBILIZATION OF PRAYER
Colossians 4:2
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."
From May 1-June 5 join 500,000 Nazarenes in prayer as we ask God…
to usher in a new day in the USA/Canada Region in the Church of the Nazarene,
to raise up leaders to start new churches,
for renewal in our ministry and our churches,
and for a resurgence in the Nazarene message of hope and holiness.
“God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it.”
- John Wesley
BUILDING TRANSITION UPDATE
Did you know that over the last 84 years of ministry in York (we were formally organized in 1938), we have had 7* different locations for Sunday adult worship? 1 on George Street, 1 on Princess Street, 3 different sanctuaries on Pine Street, and now 2 on Stillmeadow Lane. As God was faithful through all of those transitions, we believe He is being faithful in our current transition at our Stillmeadow Lane Campus.
In the last two years, we discovered new ways to more effectively use our Stillmeadow Lane campus. We can provide greater security and flow for our children’s ministries by having them worship in the Worship Center and meet on the east side of the building. This means we have moved adults to the 7th* location for worship in the Family Life Center on the west side of the building.
We are grateful to the volunteers, staff and the trustees of our board that are working together to update the building. Over the next couple weeks we’re cleaning out storage closets, taking things off the walls and updating our new adult worship space. As we grow, so does our need for storage. As we continue Christ’s mission, we are updating our walls to tell the story and mission of Jesus to All Generations.
Pray with us
As we follow Him through these transitions, pray with us that God will continue to reach people of every age, race and gender with His grace through our ministries. Pray with Jesus that we will be unified in following Him and making Him known to our community.
