Stillmeadow Nazarene Foster Care Initiative

Our Mission is to raise up Resource (Foster) Families and care communities in the church and community, to provide a safe, loving and stable home for foster children in York County.

We will create a community who surrounds foster children with love and support until they are reunified with their birth family or until their forever home is found.

We’re in the process of partnering with Keystone Family Alliance (KFA) to support the vulnerable families and children in our community. Check out the link for more details.

You can join us by addressing the needs of vulnerable children and families in our community in the five ways below.

  1. Prayer - receive a monthly prayer email with praise and prayer requests from Keystone Family Alliance.

  2. Become a resource family - Our goal is to have more than enough foster families than children in care. Is God calling you to answer the call to open your home? You will be contacted and guided through the process.

  3. Join a Stillnaz care community - 90% of foster parents will quit fostering before the 2 year mark. With a supportive community, 90% of them will foster past 2 years. A few hours a week of support can make a huge difference for foster parents and the children they serve. The Care Community will commit to: At least 1 year of service to the family, provide 1 meal a week, babysitting at least once month and meeting the needs the family may have throughout their fostering journey.

  4. Lead a Care Community-Each Care Community needs a coordinator to be the point person for the resource family and the Care Community. This coordinator will connect with the resource family regularly about their needs and communicate those needs to the rest of the Care Community

  5. Join Gateway - Sign up to receive emails of tangible needs posted by caseworkers that you can meet.                 Keyfam.org/gatewayform

  6. Give Financially —Support the mission by giving to the Keystone Family on Stillnaz.com/give or to “York County” at www.keyfam.org/donate.
