Gather25, Passage Blessing, Chili Cook-Off

Dear People Made in God’s Image,

Happy New Year friends! Isn’t it something that the first poem in scripture is this?

“So God created mankind in his own image,

in the image of God he created them;

male and female he created them.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

These illuminating lines reveal that you and I and everyone who has ever taken a breath, are equally noble. All women and all men have a sacred dignity and a sacred responsibility. This means that God thinks you’re a pretty big deal. But it also means that he doesn’t think you’re more special than anybody else. As images of God, we are made to worship God and serve his creation.

This key truth runs through the story of scripture, and we will be revisiting it through our message series this year. At the start of this year, my prayer is that through Jesus, the perfect image of God (Colossians 1:15), you will grow in understanding of your own dignity and responsibility to God, and that through the creative Holy Spirit, you will be empowered to treat all people with the dignity God has given them.

In His Hands and In His Time,

Pastor Josh

For generations, Nazarenes have supported the World Evangelism Fund. Working together, we accomplish so much as the Body of Christ. Funding the Mission is the vehicle through which we deliver the message of hope, and help expand God's Kingdom.

Thank you for your generosity!

Because you gave, we were able to give 133 gifts to our friends in nursing homes. Thanks to our delivery people pictured and to Kelly Kile who organized it! And because you gave, over 1050 inmates at York County Prison were blessed with Hope Packs!
