12/2 Holiday Schedule, Church Elections, Young Adult Ministry, Legacy Giving

Dear Stillmeadow Family,

Our advent theme for 2024 is "Stand." In Luke 21, Jesus tells his disciples to be ready to stand when he returns. The posture of the believer is "Standing" in confidence in Jesus Christ. Here are the words to our call to worship in this season.

Advent is a season when we remember

That until Jesus comes again

the darkness of sin remains for a time

We know that despair and anxiety are here

We know that sorrow and hate coexist

We have felt their weight

We have even caused and participated in them

But every advent week we light a candle

We proclaim that in the arrival and reign of Jesus Christ

Hope overcomes despair

Peace overwhelms anxiety

Joy defeats sorrow

Love conquers hate

So, let us stand with hope

Let us stand in peace

Let us stand with joy

Let us stand in love

As we go through this season, would you consider the following?

  1. Follow the Advent Devotional. This is a unique opportunity to draw near to God. The Sunday entries are written with families in mind and the daily devotions are for personal devotions. Pick one up at the Welcome Center or check it out online here.

  2. Participate in the Christmas Blessing Tree. The tree has tags for the Nursing Home Blessing and a box for collecting items for Good News Global Hope Packs for York County Prison. We have received the GREATEST BLESSING EVER in Jesus Christ and He compels us to be a blessing. Instructions are on www.stillnaz.com/justmercy.

  3. Invite a neighbor to dinner or worship. This can be a lonely time for our neighbors. Many times people are open to coming to church during the Christmas and New Year season. Ask God for an opportunity to invite a neighbor to worship or to a meal (or even both!).

In His Hands and In His Time,

Pastor Josh
