NYC Begins Today, Rise Against Hunger is soon!

Dear Church,

On Sunday, in addition to wrapping up our first part of our Romans Series (we’ll start “God IN Us” on July 9), we also took time to pray for the 30+ Stillmeadow participants who have gone to Tampa Bay for Nazarene Youth Conference 2023.

And cool story, click the button below and you can tune into the services with them! Let’s continue to pray together for them.

One of my favorite Stillmeadow events last year was when we participated in Rise Against Hunger. We were a part of RAH’s work of distributing 67.6 million meals. Rise Against Hunger targets remote, last-mile communities within hunger pockets designated “serious” or higher by the Global Hunger Index, and works with local leaders to harness the strengths of their communities and tackle their own food and nutrition security challenges with agency, dignity and resilience. Check out RAH’s 2022 stats below. And plan to participate by serving on July 30 and/or giving to help us meet our goal of 10,000 meals for $4000. Keep reading the email and find how to sign up and to give.

PS…It’s the summer, which means more time for reading for me! Are you finding any good books to read? Personally, I have been encouraged by “The Non-Anxious Presence” by Mark Sayers and “Embracing Rhythms of Work and Rest” by Ruth Haley Barton. If you have any you’d like to suggest, send them my way at pastorjosh@stillnaz.com.
