Lent Begins Soon, Chili Cookoff, Night 2Gether

Happy February Church Family,

Lent Begins on Valentines Day

It feels like we just put away our Christmas lights and advent devotionals, but Lent is soon upon us. Beginning on Ash Wednesday (February 14) and running through Easter, this is a season to consider carefully the care-filled cost Christ paid on the cross. It is a time to consider our own mortality and need for salvation. It is a time to consider what we need to give up in order to receive His gifts. What a wonder that it begins on a day when love is remembered. His is the greatest love ever!

We invite you to join us on the Lenten Journey in the following ways.

Attend the BMA Ash Wednesday Service at 7PM at Fairview Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, 465 S Pine St, York, PA.

Follow the Lenten Devotional. Physical and digital copies will be available on February 11. You can subscribe to get daily emails here.

Participate in Holy Week Prayers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of Holy Week (March 25-29), we’ll have prayer services.

Follow the Daily Readings and Reflections

Each week we provide reflection questions and daily scriptures for personal and family growth beyond Sundays.

I conclude this message with some of Jesus’ words on prayer from Luke 11:13

“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

We’re praying for you. Will you pray for us?
