Lent Begins, IF (Women’s Conference), New Groups

Dear Church Family,

A prayer for you…

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ — to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11)

Think about what Paul prayed there for the Philippian church. Imagine a church whose love abounds in knowledge and deep insight. Imagine a church being purified and living holy lives. Imagine a church “filled with the fruit of righteousness.” This is my prayer for us.

Lent Begins next Wednesday

Lent is a season to grow in love, to deepen our insight into the love God has for us. It begins on Ash Wednesday (February 14) and runs through Easter. It is a time to consider our own mortality and need for salvation. It is a time to consider what we need to give up in order to receive His gifts. What a wonder that it begins on a day when love is remembered. His is the greatest love ever!

We invite you to join us on the Lenten Journey in the following ways.

Attend the BMA Ash Wednesday Service at 7PM at Fairview Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, 465 S Pine St, York, PA.

Follow the Lenten Devotional. Physical and digital copies will be available on February 11. You can subscribe to get daily emails here.

Attend the BMA Wednesday Service at 7PM on February 28 at Stillmeadow Lane.

Participate in Holy Week Prayers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of Holy Week (March 25-29), we’ll have prayer services.

Follow the Daily Readings and Reflections

Each week we provide reflection questions and daily scriptures for personal and family growth beyond Sundays.

IF:2024 is a chance for women to gather. A reason to celebrate. A moment to refocus on our mission to go make disciples because we know our time on earth is short. And if Jesus were to come back in our lifetime, wouldn’t we want to have done everything in our power to reach every person on earth?

To Cathy Grosvenor. Her brother Keith passed away January 13th.

I conclude this message with some of Jesus’ words on prayer from Luke 11:13

“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

We’re praying for you. Will you pray for us?
