Repay with blessing, Sign up for Potluck and Directory
Dear Church,
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)
Hold up! Is Peter saying the Christian “owes” blessings to those who “pay” them with evil?
Yes. Just like Jesus did (read 1 Peter 2:21-25). But notice that this comes with the promise “that you may inherit a blessing.” As Christians we have the “living hope” of a blessed inheritance in Christ “that can never perish, spoil or fade” (1 Peter 1:4).
Without God and without hope, all we have is hateful, wimpy retaliation or rebellion. Without God and without hope, we live like beasts who trample each other (so accurately portrayed in Daniel’s vision in Daniel 8).
With God and with His hope we have stouthearted love, “sympathetic, “compassionate” and “humble” (1 Peter 3:8).
My Prayer:
Jesus, help us schedule our lives around hope. Despair runs the streets, but your love rules the world. Help us love without fear. When we experience evil, strengthen us to repay it with blessing.

Pasta Fundraiser Update
Thank you to all who generously gave to the Youth Pasta Fundraiser Event! Your participation, donations of silent auction items and baked goods contributed to the success! The dinner was delicious, the fellowship was meaningful, smiles were plentiful, and your kindness was A-Mazing. Because you gave, our teens were blessed with $8,032 to offset the costs of upcoming youth events. Thank you for making an investment in their lives!

Our Welcome Bash message was “Serve York Together!” Each volunteer at Stillmeadow, through your acts of service in your area of ministry, play a crucial part for the mission of proclaiming Jesus to all generations.
Our next All-Church Series is “Be the Church: Serve the World” (Oct 16-Nov 13). Since volunteers are a crucial part of the mission, we’d love to give you a preview of that series at our All Volunteer Potluck on October 2, from 4:30-6:30. Register below.

Stillmeadow is pleased to announce that we are launching a digital directory. If you have children or teens that have participated in services, have generously given financially, or are a volunteer or small group member, then you are in our system. We do not share this information outside our organization.
