Stillnaz Weekly Update: Welcome Bash is 17 days away!
Dear friends,
I have yet to meet someone who loves waiting in lines. But in today’s word from Isaiah 30:15-18, we see God inviting the people of Judah essentially to wait in His line. They wanted the convenience and ease of “fast horses.” But when they put their hope in horses, they found themselves easily scared away.
Waiting on God is not convenient or easy, but it brings salvation, strength and blessing.
Sometimes in our efforts to “streamline” and make life “efficient” we can elevate “convenience” to god-like status in our hearts. This has two negative effects. First, it causes me to only obey God when it’s comfortable and convenient. Second, it causes me to (over)react to people who interrupt my flow as if they are “disturbing the peace.”
Today may we “wait on the Lord” and find salvation and strength in Him. May we receive His grace and compassion, and join Him in showing it to others in our world. And as we do, may we receive each person not as a disturbance but as a wonder to behold, a soul to be cherished and a spirit to be encouraged.

Youth Pasta Dinner: Sept 17
We are planning our Pasta Dinner for Saturday, September 17th. The event is open to all youth group members, and the success of this event is critical to participation by both parents and teens alike. We'll require help from parents in a planning capacity, and participation from youth to serve at the dinner.
We will be holding an initial planning meeting tonight, 8/11 at 7pm via Zoom. During this meeting, we will discuss...
Ticket Sales, Food Planning / Preparation, Set up Planning, Greeters/Servers, Silent Auction, Baked Good Auction, Thrivent Sponsorship
We are in need of assistance in several of the areas noted above...essentially setting up sub-committees to lead the charge in planning and executing the various areas.

Kindergarten Milestone Event
You are invited to our first Welcome to Kindergarten Milestone Event! We want to support you as you begin this new journey and have a picnic together after church on August 21st at 12PM. We have a Kindergarten teacher joining us, and as the kids play, we will talk to give tips on how your family can start the school year off right, both from a practical and spiritual perspective.

Sponsor a Chair: Give to the Renovation Plus Fund
Our financial team has been diligent in saving regular church tithes and offerings for long-term maintenance on our buildings and properties, so we have been able to fund our recent building updates through that long-term maintenance fund. But we need your help to cover the cost of new chairs for both campuses. After serving us for years, our worship chairs are wearing out and breaking down. Will you sponsor a chair?
Think about it this way: Each chair represents a life of someone who needs the grace of Christ. By helping with the cost of the chairs, you are investing in potential transformation for the sake of Christ.

First, in prayer. I can’t help but wonder who will be blessed in the coming years from our generosity today. Will you join me in praying for them? And will you pray for our current church family to be united in Christ and focused on proclaiming Jesus to all generations?
Second, join in giving. We need $41,580 to complete the chair project. Each chair is roughly $60.00. A row of 8 chairs is $480 and a section of 40 chairs is $2400. Maybe you can sponsor part of a chair, a whole chair, a whole row or a section of chairs. Ask God for guidance and give according to His direction.
