Family Advent Experience next Sunday, Christmas Choir and Discipleship Courses
Dear Stillmeadow Family,
What a blessing it was to receive the word from Chaplain Mike yesterday (WATCH HERE). He truly is following the pattern of our savior’s incarnation by going into the prison and serving our incarcerated neighbors. And you can join him by praying, volunteering or donating. Find out more at www.stillnaz.com/justmercy.
Chaplain Mike’s message and mission remind me of what Tom Noble said in his third book of his first volume of Christian Theology.
The Son of God did not become incarnate as our blood relative only to pay our 'debt', but so that we might come to know him as our dear Brother.
He wants to save us from becoming sad, malformed, self-centred, economic machines, scrabbling for advantage or even, like the beasts, for mere survival.
He wants to bring us into his banqueting house, and his banner over us is love.
He wants to wrap us in his arms within the personal relationships of the Holy Trinity.
What Jesus does is what Chaplain Mike is aiming to do. To join the men inside YCP and help them see God’s infinite love! To help them move from “mere survival” to thriving in God’s love.
Please take time to pray through the opportunities we are highlighting each week this month. Ask God how he is inviting you to respond and represent his grace and truth in these days. Check out www.stillnaz.com/justmercy for info on Habitat for Humanity, the Foster Care Initiative, Good News Global and the Nursing Home Blessing.
As you respond to his call, engage his word this week. Here’s the reading schedule that includes further exploration of what the Bible has to say…

Family Advent Experience is next Sunday
We want to engage in the season of Advent as a church together. Advent is a season of waiting and watching, planning and preparing for Christmas. And the Family Advent Experience (Nov 24 in our 9:00 and 10:30 services) is a way of preparing the entire church family for the Advent season. Advent begins on December 1 this year and we will have Advent Devotions available this Sunday at the Welcome Center or you can sign up to have them emailed to you daily (sign up HERE).
Christmas Choir
If you like to sing or play an instrument, join us for the Christmas Musical Program that will take place in both services December 15th! You can sign up at stillnaz.com/choir. Questions? Email pastorjohn@stillnaz.com.
Discipleship Courses
We are all on a discipleship pathway here in Stillmeadow and we have many intermittent courses that help equip each of us in spiritual formation. Our courses can be found at stillnaz.com/courses. You can walk right across the hall during the 10:30 service to participate in our Journey course.
Grow with us
No one matures alone. Check out our listing of groups and let us know if you’re interested in one. Contact Karon Kagan (kkagan@stillnaz.com) or Pastor Tabitha Martin (pastortabitha@stillnaz.com) if you’d like help signing up or learning more.
We believe that as followers of Jesus, we are on the pathway of discipleship. This pathway is not linear, but we grow when we gather together, when we take courses to grow in our spiritual formation, when we commit to a lifegroup to practice the mission of Jesus together, when we begin to lead others, and when we pray together. Join our discipleship pathway as we grow with Jesus and one another!

Crisis Care Kits
One way the Church of the Nazarene supports people facing natural and humanitarian disasters is through Crisis Care Kits. These are little packs that help meet basic needs. If you’d like to help, you can build kits of your own and bring them into Stillmeadow. You can find the list and instructions HERE.
