Next EHS Class, Financial Series, JTAG Choir

Dear Church Family,

If you missed last night’s Mid-Week Lenten Service presented by the BMA at Stillmeadow, you can tune in here.

If you haven’t signed up for daily devotional emails, sign up here. Below is today’s reflection from Brian Meyers on 1 Peter 2:4-10.

In 1 Peter 2:4-10, we are reminded that we are living stones, chosen and precious in the eyes of the Lord. These verses speak of Christ as the cornerstone, the foundation upon which our faith is built. He was first rejected by his people, then became the cornerstone for all peoples and has given us mercy.

Our worth, that is tied to His ultimate sacrifice, becomes a profound reflection of a love so deep that he was willing to die for us so that we may live. As we think about the significance of being a part of God’s spiritual house, let us recognize the immense value He sees in each of us, a value worth dying for. May this truth inspire gratitude and a desire to live lives worthy of his sacrifice made on our behalf.

How can you show the goodness of God to others today?

~~Brian Meyers Jr~~

Give with us

Joy Boxes on Sundays!

On Sundays at the Stillmeadow Lane Campus, we will be receiving our physical offerings through our Joy Boxes at the two entrances to our Family Life Center. You may give when you enter for worship or when you exit to serve the world. This will replace the receiving of offerings by passing the baskets in the middle of our worship services. And it will be similar to the way offerings were received in Jesus’ day! Read Luke 21:1-4 for an example of giving. May we give with the generous and sacrificial spirit of the poor widow that Jesus lifted up in that passage.

World Evangelism

Support the global efforts of the Nazarene Church through giving to the World Evangelism Fund. Just select “missions” online or write “Missions” on your memo line of check. Read more about Nazarene Missions on our African Region Nazarene site.

Coats for Refugees and Immigrants

And you can support local efforts to serve the global community who has come to York. The New American Welcome Center is looking for winter coats for men, women and children who have arrived here in York. You can drop off the coats in the Compassion Room at the Stillmeadow Lane Campus.

New Financial Stewardship Series

Throughout the year we will be offering a financial stewardship series with one-time classes on different financial topics.  Please note the date change for 5 Keys to Retiring Fearlessly.  It will be held on March 14th. Check out the information on the flyer below!

Play Softball on the Stillmeadow Team

Spring is just around the corner and softball team sign-ups are here. The season runs from the end of April to the end of July. Expected costs will be $45 per player.  If interested in playing, please contact Todd Henry, tdaehenry@comcast.net, 540-809-8211 or Tyler Warntz, twarntz@gmail.com, 717-521-6542 before March 17th.

Thank you notes to the church…

Thank you for your faithful support and prayers of God’s work in and through me in Papua, New Guinea. I was always thankful for the monthly prayer requests knowing folks were praying for me. As my missionary career is ending, I just wanted to take the time to say thank you. I trust another missionary will be just as blessed by your prayers as I was. May God continue to watch over you. Erin Meier

We are grateful for the love prayers and support from our church family as we journeyed through my mother’s illness and eventual home going. The Lord has been so faithful and many of you have been instruments of that faithfulness. We also cherished the flowers as they have brought cheer to our days, We are blessed to call Stillmeadow our home. With grateful hearts, Jennifer Stough & Family

Congratulations

To the families who dedicated their children this weekend during our Child Dedication.

Condolences

To Pat Eyler & Family. Elwood “Woody” Eyler passed away February 15th.

I conclude this message with our theme verse for the Lenten Series:

“For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.” Mark 8:35

Let’s save our lives by losing them for Him and His gospel…
