Chili Cookoff, Night 2Gether, Child Dedication
Happy New Year Church Family,
The Lord is near to all who call on him…
This year I am reading through the Bible with one of my daughters. As I read Psalm 145, my heart was drawn to these three verses.
8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
he has compassion on all he has made.
And then in my January “Lead with Prayer” Devotional on the Echo Prayer App, these three verses were the ones we were invited to reflect on. God was gifting me with a “double showing.” I need that reminder of his grace and compassion and goodness. And during this season, it is vital for me to remember that God is close to anyone who will call on him in truth.
Let God hear the voice of your heart today. When you call there is no “busy” signal. You won’t have to leave a voicemail. He is the God who hears. And as my devotional said: “Sometimes God answers prayer with miracles. But many times He answers prayer with the comfort found in His presence.”
