SANCTIFIED Part 6: Restored By His Grace
Psalm 126, Philippians 3:4b-14, Isaiah 43:16-21
THE SANCTIFIED LIFE IS RESTORATION BY HIS GRACE
Message Reflection Question
Begin with silence. Then read Psalm 126 as an opening prayer.
How has God “restored” what was broken in your life?
How does the idea of “restoration” fit into the process of sanctification (being made holy like Jesus)?
Read Philippians 3:4b-14. Why is knowing Christ (v 8 & 10) more important to Paul than all his accomplishments?
What is Paul’s attitude towards his past (v 7-9, 13)?
Describe the shift in Paul’s energy and attention in this passage. What did he shift from and shift to? How can we do that too?
The prophetic instruction and promise in Isaiah 43:16-21 were written to people who’d been in exile for 150 years. How do you think they’d receive this passage?
Why does “forgetting the former things” and “not dwelling on the past” help with the process of sanctification and restoration?
What do you need to forget and not dwell on so that you can celebrate and enjoy the “new thing” (i.e. sanctification) God has for you?
Close by praying a prayer of release, a prayer of letting go, and a prayer of holding on to Christ and His promises.
