SANCTIFIED Part 5: At Home
Psalm 32; Josh 5:9-12; Luke 15:1-3, 11-32; 2 Corinthians 5:15-21
THE SANCTIFIED LIFE IS AT HOME IN CHRIST WHEN I …
1) COME TO MY SENSES,
2) COME HOME TO GOD,
3) CONFESS MY SINS AND SHORTCOMINGS,
4) CELEBRATE HEAVEN’S HAPPINESS
Message Reflection Questions
Begin with silence. Then read Psalm 32 as an opening prayer.
How did you see God at work in the past week?
Read Luke 15:1-3, 11-32. What does the parable of the lost son tell us about the nature and character of God?
Compare the younger son’s situation in Luke 15:13-17 to the Psalmist in Psalm 32:3-4. Why is the process of “coming to our senses” essential for sanctification?
Look at Luke 15:18-24. How does the homecoming of the son connect with Psalm 32:1 and 5?
How does unconfessed sin prevent spiritual growth? How does it affect the sanctification process? Do you confess your sins regularly?
Why does the older son in Luke 15:25-32 not share the happiness of the father?
Read Psalm 32:11. How does celebrating with the Father affect the sanctification process in a believer?
As you close in prayer, take a moment to ask the Spirit to reveal any unconfessed sin, then confess it. After this, commit to rejoicing in Christ by celebrating His character and accomplishments.
