Series: The Indestructible Kingdom Part 2: Suffering Instead of Sinning September 11, 2022
Daniel 3:4-18, 24-28, 6:6-14, 16-23, 1 Peter 2:13-17, 2:21-25
Message Reflection Questions
Begin with silence.
What did God say to you through the message?
Read 1 Peter 4:12-16. What does this say about the role of suffering in the life of a Christian? Would you rather suffer or sin?
Read Daniel 3 and/or 6. What injustice did the Jewish exiles face in the story?
Read Exodus 20:1-6. What were the exiles being tempted to do? How did the ruling of the land conflict with the law of God?
“Faith knows the goodness and power of God, guards the loving freedom of God, holds to the truth and teaching of God” (adaptation of a quote from Dale Ralph Davis). How did the exiles show this kind of face?
Read 1 Peter 2:11-17. How did the exiles live like this? What can we learn from them and from Peter's instruction to the church?
What is one thing God is showing to you that you want to adjust so that you can live like Daniel and his friends?
Close in prayer. Include prayers for Christians in persecuted countries and for resolve to live like Daniel.
