Reflection Questions

Read and follow the instructions of Psalm 96:1-9 by declaring God’s glory and telling of his work in your life.

  1. In general, what is your favorite part of the story of David?

  2. What can we learn about God’s heart in Nathan’s message to David in 2 Samuel 7:3-16?

  3. How is God’s grace on display in Nathan’s confrontation of David in 2 Samuel 12:1-14?

  4. How is your heart encouraged or challenged through these moments that God had with Nathan and David?

  5. Have you ever needed a Nathan to step up and speak the truth to you?

  6. Read 1 John 1:9-10 and Psalm 51:17 together. Why is it important to be specifically sorry for sins when making confession to God?

  7. If you’re in a group break into smaller groups for this next question: If Nathan came to you today, what sin would he confront? Will you confess it and seek God’s help to overcome it?

9. Close by praying Psalm 51:9-12.
