Message Reflection Questions
Begin with silent prayer to center your heart.
Read Matthew 21:1-17. If reading with a group, consider making it interactive and giving out parts. If reading alone, read the quotations aloud.
Allow the story to invite you to praise along with the crowd: Give praise to Jesus for who he is and what he has done.
Now allow the story to invite you to pray along with the crowd. The cry “hosanna” means “Save!” Pray: “God will you save __ from ___.”
What are things in our lives that crowd out praise and prayer in our daily lives?
Why do you think that Jesus went right to the temple after his Palm Parade?
Name some of the differences between the way the religious leaders and the sick and the children responded to Jesus.
How do we prevent our hearts from becoming indignant to Jesus like the religious leaders? How do we keep our hearts open to Jesus like the sick and the children?
Close in prayer around this question: What is God inviting me to “clear out” so that my life will be a life of prayer and praise?
