THIS IS MY STORY-Advent Week 3: Joy
Scripture: Isaiah 35, Psalm 146:5-10, Luke 1:46-55
Message Reflection Questions
Opening Question: What brings God delight? What is His dream for the world?
Read Isaiah 35 and choose an image of rehabilitation. Take two minutes to sit in silence with that image in your mind. Talk with Jesus about why you need this image.
How is disappointment a threat to joy? What else threatens joy?
Read Psalm 146:5-10. How does knowing these things about God bring you joy?
Which one of those things does the world need most?
Take a moment to pray over that list of God’s dreams in Psalm 146. Which one is God drawing you to dream with him about? What can you do this week about it?
Close in prayer. Use Psalm 146:5-10 as a guide. First, give praise for what God has made. Second, pray for the oppressed, hungry, prisoners etc.
