Dear Church,

Here we are…the Family of God. Looking out onto the landscape of 2023.

Perhaps you feel anxious about what lies ahead. God’s word to Joshua in his season of transition are helpful for us today.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Perhaps you know the changes you need to make, but are hesitant because of the failures of the past. The writer to the Hebrews has some encouragement.

…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. (Hebrews 12:1b-2a)

Wherever or however you find yourself, remember this: “The Lord your God will be with you.” Yes, the King of kings and Lord of Lords, the Pioneer and Perfecter of faith, is here. Our next series, starting this Sunday, “The Kingdom of the Beloved” is going to focus on how to live in awareness of God’s presence and reign at all times. We hope you’ll join us.

As we look ahead at 2023, we’d love to have you on our volunteer team. It’s so cool to think that each person serving at Stillmeadow is part of a tradition of serving that has existed for 85+ years at our church and 2000+ years in the church universal. You have been gifted and we’d be honored to have your gifts in greeting, worship, childrens or youth ministries, and more. Click on the button below to share you’re interest.

Baptisms are January 29

If you’d like to show your faith through baptism, we’d love to celebrate that commitment. We have baptism classes on January 22 to prepare for that day. So please sign up at the button below.

Stillmeadow Souper Chili Bowl is February 5

We’re hosting our annual meeting with stories from the last year at our first ever Souper Chili Bowl, from 4:30-6:30 on Sunday February 5 at our Stillmeadow Lane Campus. We’ll have a Soup and Chili competition too! Sign your soup up at the link below. If you can’t to bring soup, but want to join, bring a side or drink!

Pray with us for the Jamaica Team at 10:02

From January 6-15, we’ll have a group of Stillmeadow Nazarenes serving with our brothers and sisters on the East Jamaica district. Let’s cover them in prayer while they are away. Set your phone alarms for 10:02 and pray for the team each day at that time. Why 10:02? Because Jesus said in Luke 10:2, that “the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, therefore pray to the Lord to send out workers.” So, let’s pray for protection, provision, open doors and open hearts.

2022 Giving Statements

The generosity of God’s people has blessed Stillmeadow and its ministries here in York and to the world beyond.  Together our contributions shared the  Gospel, fed the hungry, supported the hurting, sustained missionaries, sent a team to Florida, gave children and youth a camp experience, and allowed our church to operate the two campuses. Your 2022 giving statements will be emailed on January 25, 2023. 

Condolences to…

Chris Ness and her family on the passing of her father, Donald Swope on January 3.

The Wagaman Family on the passing of long-time Stillmeadow member Harry Wagaman December 8.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
