Church Directory, 30 Hour Famine, Discipleship Courses

Dear Stillmeadow Family,

We live in a time when churches, companies and countries have experienced the dark corruption of leadership and abuse of power. Historically, this is nothing new. The Old Testament is full of stories of kings and parents and siblings misusing the authority given to them.

Jesus even said about the Gentile leaders of his time: “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.”

But he called his disciples to lead small.

43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Do you have that memorized? It packs a powerful punch, because it ties together the fact that 1) Jesus gave his life as ransom and 2) Jesus gave his life as an example.

Jesus died to free us to follow his example of service.

It’s time for the church (me and you) to serve like Jesus with his help.

Let’s engage in his word every day this week. Here’s the reading schedule…

Weekly Reading (October 20-26)

  • Monday: Psalm 75; Hebrews 6:1-12

  • Tuesday: Psalm 37:23-40; Hebrews 6:13-20

  • Wednesday: Psalm 91:9-16; John 13:1-17

  • Thursday: Psalm 126; Hebrews 7:1-10

  • Friday: Psalm 34:1-8; Hebrews 7:11-22

  • Saturday: Jeremiah 29:24-32; Mark 8:22-26

In His Hands and In His Time,

Pastor Josh

Join the Online Church Directory

Stillmeadow uses Church Center to provide ways to connect with Small Groups and with each other. The great thing about an online directory is that you can update your information and choose which information to share. Fill out the form at Stillnaz.com/directory, email kkagan@stillnaz.com or visit the next steps table to express your interest! You will receive an email from Church Center that will invite you to update your information, and then guide you through the process of sharing your information. Church Center can be used online at stillnaz.churchcenter.com or you can download the app to your smart phone or tablet.

Grow with us

No one matures alone. Check out our listing of groups and let us know if you’re interested in one. Contact Karon Kagan (kkagan@stillnaz.com) or Pastor Tabitha Martin (pastortabitha@stillnaz.com) if you’d like help signing up or learning more.

We believe that as followers of Jesus, we are on the pathway of discipleship. This pathway is not linear, but we grow when we gather together, when we take courses to grow in our spiritual formation, when we commit to a lifegroup to practice the mission of Jesus together, when we begin to lead others, and when we pray together. Join our discipleship pathway as we grow with Jesus and one another!

Courses- We are all on a discipleship pathway here in Stillmeadow and we have many intermittent courses that help equip each of us in spiritual formation.  Our courses can be found at stillnaz.com/courses.  You can walk right across the hall during the 10:30 service to participate in our Journey course.
