Welcome Bash & Baptism, Share Your Story, Youth Retreat

Dear Church Family,

"What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the Promised Land. What a day, glorious day, that will be!" Pastor Steve left us with the thought that the best is yet to come. This song does the same. The best is yet to come, and Romans 8:19-21 leads us to that truth. It says, "For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed." It also says, "Creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God." What a promise! I pray that for you today. I pray that your journey towards meeting Jesus physically face-to-face begins here on earth, meeting Him daily in your everyday routines.

Blessings,

Pastor John

The Main Announcements

Among all the life activities of Stillmeadow, there is one big announcements this week, Welcome Bash & Baptism!

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, money for food trucks or your own picnic lunch! Invite your family, friends and neighbors! Park at Goode Elementary.

If you would like to volunteer to serve at this event please sign-up at stillnaz.com/serve.

Baptisms At Welcome Bash

Have you given your life to Jesus? The next step is to be baptized!

Baptism is the ancient symbol of the church to recognize that a person has been cleansed of their sins, has died to their old way of life and has been raised to Jesus’ way of life. For the baptized it is an opportunity to say “I am all in” to the way of Jesus. You can sign up at www.stillnaz.com/baptism.

Welcome Bash Blessing

Thank you for your participation in fighting world hunger through the Rise Against Hunger event. Our Welcome Bash Blessing  will fight local hunger by collecting cereal and rice. Please bring your favorite healthy cereal for the weekend food program at Central & York City school districts and 1 lb bags of rice for the New American Welcome Center. A free-will offering will be collected for the three programs.

Play Kickball at the Welcome Bash!

Sign-up at the Welcome Desk before and after services or email Patsy Moses at pmoses@stillnaz.com.

Share Your Testimony of God’s Faithfulness This Summer

Sunday at the Welcome Bash we will be sharing the stories of God's faithfulness and the way we heard God's voice over the summer!  There isn't time to hear everyone's story so we have two options:  one, you can write your posterboard testimony on Sunday morning and walk forward during worship to display it.  Two, we are asking you to share your story to a reporter!  At the Welcome Bash, we will have a Stillmeadow reporter in the foyer of YCC to video record 1-3 minutes of your experience with God this summer!  Stop by to share your story!  Please plan to use one or both of these means to celebrate the work of the Spirit!

Join the Online Church Directory-Stillmeadow uses Church Center to provide ways to connect with Small Groups and with each other. The great thing about an online directory is that you can update your information and choose which information to share. Fill out the form at Stillnaz.com/directory, email kkagan@stillnaz.com or visit the next steps table to express your interest! You will receive an email from Church Center that will invite you to update your information, and then guide you through the process of sharing your information. Congratulations

To Trent and Trinda Shaffer who welcomed Peter Bradley on August 5th!

To Eric and Kelsey Gimbi who welcomed Addison August 7th!

To Nate and Amy Harmer who welcomed Joel Benjamin August 5th!

Congrats to the Teal Softball Team for concluding their season as runner up in the C Division. It was a great season for Teal, Blue and CR Stillmeadow teams and we look forward to more fun and fellowship next year.

I conclude with a favorite verse:

“When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”

(Titus 3:4-5a)

Let’s rejoice in and share that good news! I’ll see you on August 25!
