Let Justice Roll, 30 Hour Famine and Thanksgiving Dinner
Happy November Church Family!
“Let Justice Roll On Like A River”
That’s what God said. In Amos 5:24, he says, “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.” This month (which we’re calling Just Mercy Month), we’re jumping into the river and asking God to show us how to “let justice roll” in and through our lives as the people of Christ.
What does it look like for justice to roll on and righteousness too? I’d love to hear your thoughts (pastorjosh@stillnaz.com). When we surrender our lives to Jesus, we surrender to his justice and righteousness, so that our actions and our character match His. Justice and Righteousness looks like daily including those who are excluded, caring for those in our family that need special care, speaking up for someone at work who can’t speak for themselves, or sitting with someone in their suffering.
My hope through this series is that your heart would be pierced for the needs of our community and your hands would be moved to act with Jesus on their behalf. I want to see “justice roll” in York County Prison, in the Foster Care System and in Nursing Homes too. That’s why we are exploring ways to share His mercy with people who have been imprisoned, children in foster care and folks who are living in nursing homes.
On November 5 we heard from Chaplain Michael Irvin from Good News Prison and Jail Ministry and how we can partner with him in his work at York County Prison. Here are the four ways you can join in: stillnaz.com/prisonministry
Preparing For Stand Sunday
This Sunday (Nov 12) is Stand Sunday! And we will hear from Nayler Abror from Keystone Family Alliance about how we can stand with foster kids and families.
Here’s a brief video intro of how Stand Sunday came about: https://vimeo.com/224756922.
Here’s a story of God’s work in a foster family: https://vimeo.com/236147986.

Nursing Home Blessing
And on November 19, we will hear about the “Nursing Home Blessing,” a unique opportunity to care for the elderly and aging in our community.
30 Hour Famine and Thanksgiving Feast
And we will have two events that will be ways to live out God’s mercy. The youth will be doing the 30 Hour Famine on November 10-11 (that’s this weekend!) and our York City Campus will be participating in the annual community Thanksgiving Feast on November 19.
Will you join in prayer for this month?
Heavenly Father, would you light a fire for justice in the hearts of your people.
Crucified and Resurrected Christ, would you give us your sacrificial attitude to hold nothing back to serve like you do.
Holy Spirit, fill us with your compassion that we may act on the impulse of your love.

The mission of Good News Jail & Prison Ministry is to help fulfill the Great Commission by reaching inmates with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Pray for them as they hold Bible studies, provide individual pastoral counseling, and support the various spiritual needs of more than 900 inmates. Pray for God to help these men and women experience life change which will have a significant impact on York County and the surrounding area. For more info: www.stillnaz.com/prisonministry.
30 Hour Famine — the Stillnaz Youth will be going without food for 30 Hours to raise funds for those who have to go without food on a regular basis. A Message From the Pastors
We were honored and delighted by the many expressions of kindness and appreciation through the month of October. Truth is, we do this work because we love you. And we consider ourselves abundantly blessed to be a part of this church family in this season. Thank you!

Condolences
To Karen and Mark Wagner and children (Amy Harmer, Mike and Matt Wagner) who are mourning the loss of Karen’s mother, Yvonne Hughes, of Texas, who passed away last week.
I conclude this message with the memory verse for our next series.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
We’re praying for you. Will you pray for us?
Pastor Josh and the Stillmeadow Team
PS…Yes, I did get the series title “Just Mercy” from the title of the humbling and inspiring book by Bryan Stevenson, who has done incredible work with the Equal Justice Initiative. “Just Mercy tells the story of EJI, from the early days with a small staff facing the nation’s highest death sentencing and execution rates, through a successful campaign to challenge the cruel practice of sentencing children to die in prison, to revolutionary projects designed to confront Americans with our history of racial injustice.”
