Blessing the next generation
Dear Family,
Blessing the next generation
There are a many ways to “bless” another person. As a church, we are called to bless through prayer, encouragement and generosity. Here are three ways that we can bless the next generation over the next week!
If you read this today (Thursday, August 10), you can pray for the 5 kids and 2 workers going to kids camp from August 7-11. Let’s ask God to speak to the kids like He spoke to Samuel in the Old Testament and Mary in the New Testament. Let’s ask God to encourage the workers. And when we know not how to pray, let’s allow the Spirit to pray (Romans 8:26).
And when you come to church this Sunday (August 13), you can pray for the kids, youth and teachers on Blessing of the Backpack Sunday. After we pray for them, find a way to bless them with a word of encouragement.
Last Sunday was Sergio Paul’s last Sunday to serve as Summer Intern. You can bless him by investing in his future by giving to the Intern Fund, which goes directly to a scholarship for his studies at Temple University. Click here to give online.
And let’s pray for the Welcome Bash and Baptism Day on August 27. Let’s ask God to unify Stillmeadow, to use the Welcome Bash as a place for non-believers and newer believers to experience His hospitality through His people, to bless the Food Truck Teams (Mr. Frosty, Smoke-n-Hogs, Taqueria El Camino, & Z&D Fries) as they prepare, to use the event to strengthen the relational bonds between generations and campuses.
As you pray, Save the Date! Sunday August 27th at 10AM at the Stillmeadow Lane Campus! Worship Service will be in the Family Life Center and Food Trucks and games will be outside after the service. If you would like to be baptized you can sign-up here.

Pray with us
Let’s Pray for York Together This Summer
Let’s join our heads and hearts in prayer for York. Check out the daily prayer guide at the link below. Share your requests at the link below as well.
Give with us
God has given each of us gifts for us to share. In addition to giving a regular tithe, consider helping with our Crisis Care Kits or Gift Cards for School Guidance Counselors.
Crisis Care Kits —One way the Church of the Nazarene supports people facing natural and humanitarian disasters is through Crisis Care Kits. These are little packs that help meet basic needs. If you’d like to help, you can build kits of your own and bring them into Stillmeadow. You can find the list and instructions HERE.
Gift Cards for School Guidance Counselors — Often schools and counseling offices help meet basic needs of their students by purchasing needed items. We’d like to show our support by collecting gift cards from Target, Walmart and Kohls for Guidance Counselors as they serve at Goode, Sinking Springs and Roundtown Elementary (the three closest elementary schools to our two campuses). Bring your gift cards to the Welcome Bash and put them in the offering!

Overflowing with hope,

PS…Have you written or do you have a prayer that you pray daily? Two Sundays ago, I invited folks to write out a daily prayer as a way to pay attention to and join in God’s work in our daily circumstances. If you have one that you pray daily that you’d be willing to share with me, I’d love to hear/see it: pastorjosh@stillnaz.com. I’ll share mine with you too!
PPS Here’s a daily prayer from the Lectio365 App.
Father, help me to live this day to the full,
being true to You, in every way.
Jesus, help me to give myself away to others,
being kind to everyone I meet.
Spirit, help me to love the lost,
proclaiming Christ in all I do and say.
Amen.
