Series: God For Us Title: Glory In Suffering
Pastor Chris Fuller
Sermon Reflection Questions:
Read Romans 4:18-25. What do you think Paul means when he is talking about “Righteousness”? (Remember this is about what you think, not about having the ‘right answer’)
What does faith have to do with righteousness?
Read Romans 5:1-5. What do you think Paul means when he says, “we have been justified through faith”?
Paul says that we have been given 3 things through faith in Jesus in verses 1-2: Peace with God, Access to God’s Grace, Hope of the Glory of God. What do each of these mean? Consider them one at a time.
Paul says we should “glory in our sufferings”. How do you feel about that? What do you think it means? Does it make sense to you?
If Paul says “glory in God” and “glory in your suffering”, how might that be contrasted to what the broader American culture says? “American culture says glory in _________.” Explain your reasoning.
Read Romans 5:6-11. What about this passage is “good news”?
How can/should this “good news” impact our relationship with God? How about our relationship with others?
