Read John 7:37-38 and then pause for a minute or two, imagining yourself coming to Jesus for a drink.
Describe your experience of the Holy Spirit.
What do the Holy Spirit and the devil have in common and what separates them?
Read John 1:32-34, 7:37-39, 20:21-23. What do these show as the role of the Holy Spirit?
How does Jesus’ description of the devil in 8:42-44 help us understand the importance of the Holy Spirit?
What is a lie you have believed about yourself or others or God?
What are other things that people look to quench their spiritual thirst? How do lies keep people going to those things?
Where are you spiritually thirsty right now? Listen to Jesus’ invitation in John 7:37-38. What do you need to turn away from in order to turn to him? Consider giving that thing up for Lent.
