Scripture: 1 Kings 20-22, Psalm 10
When I was asked to consider preparing a Lenten devotion, Psalm 100 jumped out at me. I grew up singing some choruses with verses similar to: “I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart; I will enter His courts with praise.” One of the more recent ones (albeit recent to me is a relative timeframe) is Darlene Zschech of Hillsong’s Shout to the Lord.
Did you know God inhabits the praise of His people? (Psalm 22:3) I believe He wants us to worship him joyfully! He made us with an innate desire to connect with Him deeply. One of the ways we can do that is to worship him in spirit, and truth and to lift up His name; that’s one of the things we will do in Heaven for eternity. We will just BE with Him and believers from the beginning of time until the day He comes to this Earth in strength and power to gather His people to live with Him FOREVER.
He has been so faithful to me and my family including parents, grandparents on both sides and many others that I will get to see on that glorious day when I will enter His courts. If you haven’t listened to Shout to the Lord lately, I encourage you to listen to it OR I Can Only IMAGINE or any other songs that makes us think about the day we will be called into eternity. Get ready, friends, because it COULD BE any day now by the rapture or the end of our time on this Earth.
P.S. - Just like God’s perfect timing, on Throwback Thursday on WJTL, when I was writing THIS devo, Shout to the Lord was playing!!! Isn’t God good?!! HE IS!
