Welcome Bash & Baptism, Back to School Events
Dear Church Family,
The Church
I was reminded what the church was when we began attending Stillmeadow in 2002. The building is not the church, but the people are the church. The manual says, “The mission of the Church in the world is to share in the redemptive and reconciling ministry of Christ in the power of the Spirit. The Church fulfills its mission by making disciples through evangelism, education, showing compassion, working for justice, and bearing witness to the kingdom of God.”
The first time my wife and I stepped foot in the church she had two little ones, aged 1 and 2, in hand. As the service started she found herself walking the hall with a fussy child. A long time Stillmeadow member stopped to introduce himself and welcomed her. That gesture had a lasting effect that we will never forget. That individual still plays a big part in the church, and I am certain he had stuff to do that day, but he saw an opportunity to serve and show compassion to a mom with a crying baby in hand. He did not know our story, but he was living out what Jesus did by bearing witness to what he was taught.
The church/the people are family, they walk through and support each other through tough times and good times by living out the redemptive story. The power of the Holy Spirit can do amazing things when the church comes together in unity to show love to all! I leave you with this:
1 Thessalonians 4:9-11
New International Version
9 Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. 10 And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia.(YORK) Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, 11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you.

The Main Announcements
Among all the life activities of Stillmeadow, there are three big announcements this week, Welcome Bash & Baptism, Back to school “Backpack Blessing” Ignite party and Kindergarten Milestone Events and Work & Witness 2025 Informational Meeting..
Baptisms At Welcome Bash
Have you given your life to Jesus? The next step is to be baptized!
Baptism is the ancient symbol of the church to recognize that a person has been cleansed of their sins, has died to their old way of life and has been raised to Jesus’ way of life. For the baptized it is an opportunity to say “I am all in” to the way of Jesus. You can sign up at www.stillnaz.com/baptism.
Welcome Bash Blessing
Thank you for your participation in fighting world hunger through the Rise Against Hunger event. Our Welcome Bash Blessing will fight local hunger by collecting cereal and rice. Please bring your favorite healthy cereal for the weekend food program at Central & York City school districts and 1 lb bags of rice for the New American Welcome Center. A free-will offering will be collected for the three programs.

FIN (Family In Need) Fund
In obedience to our Lord Jesus, the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene has established a fund known as the Family In Need (FIN). Our people are encouraged to give to the FIN Fund in a form of a “love offering”, over and above the tithe. These funds are designated funds, to be used only for the purpose of Christian benevolence to assist in a financial crisis for food, shelter, medical needs and other essential expenses. To give to this fund please click the Give button below.
Quarterly Giving Statement
Stillmeadow accomplishes its mission of Jesus to All Generations through the faithful generosity of God’s people. Because our accountability and transparency are important below is our quarterly income and expense report for the most recent quarter.
Join the Online Church Directory-Stillmeadow uses Church Center to provide ways to connect with Small Groups and with each other. The great thing about an online directory is that you can update your information and choose which information to share. Fill out the form at Stillnaz.com/directory, email kkagan@stillnaz.com or visit the next steps table to express your interest! You will receive an email from Church Center that will invite you to update your information, and then guide you through the process of sharing your information. Church Center can be used online at stillnaz.churchcenter.com or you can download the app to your smart phone or tablet.
Thank You
From the team at Joe StrEat Cafe on behalf of the North York Gospel Chapel: “Thank you for everything. Enjoy some fresh roasted coffee for the next few weeks.”
This thank you was for the use of Sprenkle House while North York Gospel Chapel recovered from a small fire. and we have enjoyed the coffee in the cafe for the last few weeks!
I conclude with a favorite verse:
“When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”
(Titus 3:4-5a)
Let’s rejoice in and share that good news! I’ll see you on August 25!
