Our Next All Church Series Begins Oct 1, and more!

Hello Church Fam,

One of the ways that we “embrace unity” as a church is to have an “all church series” when we invite kids, youth and adult ministries across both campuses to focus on the same set of scriptures in the same period of time. These can be catalyzing experiences in the life of the church, moments that allow us space to keep in step with the Spirit together.

From October 1-29, we want to align our spirits and hearts around Jesus’ words in Matthew 21-22. Pastor John, Pastor Chris, Pastor Jade and Chastity and Pastor Rachel will all be preaching throughout this series.

I want to challenge you to…

  1. Make every effort to come every Sunday.

  2. Jump into a discipleship group to wrestle with the question of the week.

  3. Do the daily readings.

  4. Pray the daily prayers.

If you aren’t in a group: sign up here.

If you’d like to follow the daily readings and prayers: grab a guide at the welcome desk or download them here.

How Not To Be The Church

A brief look at Matthew 21-22 and you’ll see that Jesus was confronting the religious establishment of his day, providing correction in love, inviting them and us to leave behind unrepentant, fruitless, inattentive, hypocritical and unloving lives. So, we’re titling this series: “How Not To Be The Church.” What Jesus confronted then, he wants to cleanse today.

I’m praying that this will be a purifying time for our church, as we allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the areas of our lives that are resistant to His work and His way, so that we can Be the Church and Serve the World as He has destined us to be and do. I’m praying with hope-filled anticipation that God will deepen our dependence on Him and interdependence on each other through this series.

Will you pray for me and each other in this?

Pray with us

Let’s Pray with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries

The Sept 8 weekly prayer update included prayer for the Sudan Refugee Crisis, those impacted by Hurricane Idalia and for Holistic Child Development in Brazil. You can find specific ways to pray by following this link.

Let’s pray for the Fullers and the Youth and Young Adult Ministries

Last week, Pastor Chris and Emily announced that they are being called to serve in Loretto, PA, where Chris has been invited to serve as a prison chaplain. God is going to use this transition to strengthen our youth and young adult ministry. Just as God called Chris to take this next step, He is preparing us for our next step. So, please pray as we begin to plan the best path forward for this transition.

Read more about the transition here.

Give with us

God has given each of us gifts for us to share. In addition to giving a regular tithe, consider helping with our Crisis Care Kits or Alabaster Offering.

Alabaster Boxes — The Alabaster Fund helps Nazarene churches around the world with their construction projects. We have Alabaster boxes available at the Welcome Desk of each campus. Grab one and fill it with loose change. Or give online to the Alabaster Offering. We’ll be collecting the boxes at the end of September. See a video of how a boy from Italy gave HERE.

Crisis Care Kits — Nazarene Compassionate Ministries helps people affected by disasters, famines, etc, by sending Crisis Care Kits full of necessary supplies. You can find the list of supplies and instructions HERE.
